MY PAINTING OF THE JAKARTA AIRPORT

Posted by aggie (Singapore, Singapore) on 2 February 2008 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

Yesterday, I returned from my first visit to Jakarta which turned out to be a couple of firsts. For the first time in 25 years, the Soekarno Hatta airport was closed due to torrential rains. The flight I was scheduled to fly out was delayed for 9 hours. First time I've experienced flight delay. As I sat at the Starbucks cafe and stared out of the window, I watched the water level rise and slowly cover the roots and then part of the trunk of a tree. I took a shot of this tree because it just looked so sad struggling to withstand the strong winds and rain beating down at it. A picture paints a thousand words, doesn't it?
